A Message from The Marcellus:  What NC Needs to Know About Fracking

Thursday, October 25, 2012

5:30 to 8:00 pm

Old Salem Visitor Center

600 South Main Street

Winston-Salem, NC

This film showing is sponsored by Yadkin Riverkeeper. The keynote speaker, Elaine Chiosso, will address the dangers of fracking in North Carolina and show A Message from the Marcellus: What NC Needs To Know About Fracking, a 20-minute short film created by Todd Tinkham and Molly Matlock to help stop fracking from becoming legal in North Carolina. The filmmakers traveled to PA, NY, and LA interviewing people from all walks of life about the impacts of natural-gas fracking on their communities. The filmmakers now travel all over North Carolina screening their film for free and sharing what they learned with others. Todd Tinkham, the director of A Message From The Marcellus, has had films screen at more than three-hundred film festivals on five continents, including SLAMDANCE and The Palm Springs International Film Festival.
